Costa De La Luz

costa de la luz private villa spain

The Costa de la Luz or ‘White Coast’ is the coastline for Cadiz Province in Southern Spain. Washed by the Waters of the Atlantic Ocean, it stretches for over 260 kilometers between Ayamonte (on the border with Portugal) and Tarifa (at the entrance to the Straits of Gibraltar). This coast is relatively less famous unlike the Costa Del Sol. The coast has beaches of fine white sand and they are not crowded with people and a myriad of eating establishments. This coast still offers you a tranquil atmosphere and vistas of undisturbed nature. The beaches are all clean and well equipped with all necessary installations. Some of the more famous beaches of the Costa are:

Isla Cristina, La Antilla, Punta Umbria, El Rompido, Conil de la Frontera, Bolonia, Valdevaqueros, Tarifa You can also enjoy other water sports and activities like windsurfing, sailing, jet skiing, golf, scuba diving and fishing.

The most important feature of the Costa is the beauty of its protected natural reserves and a number of first-rate natural attractions. The Donana National Park is the star attraction with endangered species, such as the Spanish imperial eagle, Iberian lynx and the Flamingos.

The other highlights are the picturesque Bay of Cadiz; the steeply pitched shorelines of the southern section of the Andalucian coastline; the salt marshes of Barbate and the seaside cliffs at La Brena.

The cities and towns along the coast are Jerez de la Fontera, Tarifa, and Puerto de Santa Maria. These towns and cities are worth a visit and are within easy distances of Cadiz.
